My name is Gina Marie Wood.  My life came to a drastic stop in 2006.  I was an emotional wreck because my marriage was failing.  I emotionally couldn’t handle the pain.  Instead of reaching out for help from God, family, and friends I sought cocaine and crack.  I lost the career that I had worked so hard to earn.  I lost my home animals and myself.  I made a poor decision and on January 17th, 2007 I met a dope boy and put myself in a very dangerous situation.  To make a long story short I was involved in 4 robberies.  I lost my freedom that day.  I spent 1 year in Montgomery county jail and was allowed to come to Fresh Start Women’s Program.  Before coming I didn’t know about God and all His miracles.  I truly felt unworthy of His love.  Day by day in this program I began to learn that God forgave me for wrongs and that He loved me.  I learned the neccessary tools to stay sober.  I thank Fresh Start for showing me how to truly love me.  I did go back to prison to finish the time out on my sentence but I was able to have hope and encouragement for a better life.  I served 3 1/2 years in jail and prison.  I was released in 2010.  Ms. Peggy Bowie believed in me and saw something in me.  As of January 17th 2012 I have been clean and sober for 5 years.  I moved away from my hometown of Clarksville and I let God lead my life today.  I am newly married, nice car, new house, and positive influences in my life.  I thank God everyday and I’m grateful for a second chance.
